Keeping 'Sconset Clean

On Your Own

  • ADOPT-A-ROAD to keep clean. Click here for details.
  • Pitch in by taking a bag with you whenever you go for a walk and pick up litter along the way.  (If you do it while jogging, it's called plogging!)
  • Leave the beach cleaner than you found it.
  • Dog walkers: please, scoop the poop! Yes, even at the beach! Bonus points if it's not from your own dog but left by somebody else.
  • Smokers: please, don't leave cigarette butts on the beach, the ground, or the road.
  • Always dispose of litter properly in your own garbage can or in a public one (see list below).

The 'Sconset Clean Team, organized and sponsored by the Siasconset Civic Association, is a group of volunteers dedicated to keeping Sconset's beach, roads, and parks free of litter.  Learn more here.

OTHER CLEAN TEAMS YOU CAN JOIN


The Sconset Trust (www.sconsettrust.org) organizes its own clean teams to keep Trust properties litter free.

The Nantucket Clean Team meets at 8 am every Saturday between May and November to pick up trash around the island. See their website for meeting points.
