Every July the Siasconset Civic Association hosts a bike and scooter safety day for young children. In cooperation with the Nantucket Police Department, a training course is set up on New Street and children follow the course to test their skills and practice safe navigation. Upon completion of riding the course and reviewing proper hand signals as well as relevant bike laws, every child receives an ice cream coupon courtesy of the Sconset Market and a special gift. All children in the Village are encouraged to attend this morning event.
